Phil Hansen

Strokes of Genius. Modern day Da Vinci.
Absolutely awed and impressed by this young artist. His art, his vision, his devotion, dedication and talent is remarkable. Really really like him, here are some of my favourite works by him:
Bruce Lee

He did this by dipping his hand in paint and hitting the canvas! Veri cute! I mean Bruce Lee is famous for his "YA TA!!!", and he applies the fighter's characteristics into his art which is amazing!

As of April 30th 2005

His works often have a political stance. Several years ago, Hansen devised an image of President George W. Bush by hand-painting the names of 1,700 coalition soldiers killed from the beginning of the Iraq War until April 2005.
"They're dying for George Bush," he explains. "They're dying for an idea that he had and unfortunately it wasn't a clear idea."

48 Victims
If you've heard about the Green River murder case, i'm sure you know who Gary Ridgeway is.

Value of Blood500ml of his blood was used to make this picture of Kim Jong Il on a canvas of 6,000 bandages as a protest against nuclear proliferation.

A Moment
This was created on a rotating circular canvas

He distributed his phone number via the Internet and asked people to call him and tell him something that changed their life. All of these moments of change were written over the course of 136 hours of which he didn't leave the work space except for restroom breaks!

You can watch the video on youtube to see how some of his works are done, veri impressive!

    He's crazy...

and ironically, for all his virtue of making a point for good really does nothing effectively positive for the cause.

    People only watch...

i know what you mean, ppl are just impressed at his work or at what he can do but nt really paying attention to what he's trying to convey thru his work.

But he does sell his work in forms of postcards etc on his website. philinthecircle.com to raise funds for organisations.

i think that is his way of expressing his thoughts, bringing them to life and creating awareness which is cool
